Welcome to DBSA Westchester NY.

If you are having suicidal thoughts and are located in the United States, call or text 988 to connect with a trained counselor at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. If you are in immediate danger please call 911 or go to a hospital emergency room. You can also contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.

The national DBSA organization also has online support groups. Click here for more information or to sign up (be sure to set your time zone in their online meeting calendar.)

We are currently having online meetings via Zoom each Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If possible, we will also have in-person meetings in the future. Please check back each week for up-to-date information on our meetings.

Our group’s mailing list is open to all. We use the list to send occasional emails about events or topics of interest to the group. Recipients cannot see the names or email addresses of others on the list. If you would like to join the mailing list, please email us at dbsawestchester@gmail.com

A mental health hotline is available to New Yorkers who need it. For free emotional support, consultation and referral to a provider, call 1-844-863-9314, and see the New York State Office of Mental Health for further resources. Also note that Headspace, in partnership with New York City, has a website with tools to help handle stress during the pandemic (guided meditation, soundscapes for sleeping, etc.).

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) of Westchester, New York is a peer-run group for people with bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders; partners and family members are also welcome.  All our meetings are free of charge and we always welcome new members.  Click here or on the Meetings menu at the top of the page for more information about our meetings.

DBSA Westchester NY is a local chapter of the national DBSA organization.
