March 13, 2020: All in-person meetings have been CANCELLED until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will be having telephone/video conference calls for the duration of the pandemic on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

We regret that we can no longer have the online meetings on Mondays from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm.

See the Instructions page for instructions on connecting to our meetings, and please check our Announcements page for updates. We regret this inconvenience, but we trust that everyone understands the importance of keeping our group members safe.

Group members who are on our mailing list received the phone number and meeting ID for our virtual meetings. Members who wish to join the mailing list, non-members who wish to join our group while we’re having only virtual meetings, and anyone else with questions or comments can send email to dbsawestchester@gmail.com or phone Chris or Elissa at the phone numbers listed on our web site’s Contact Us page.

A mental health hotline is available to New Yorkers who need it. For free emotional support, consultation and referral to a provider, call 1-844-863-9314. Also note that Headspace, in partnership with New York City, has a website with tools to help handle stress during the pandemic (guided meditation, soundscapes for sleeping, etc.).

There is also a new support group, DBSA Greater Danbury that will meet Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The virtual meeting ID and phone number are the same as for the DBSA Westchester NY meetings. The Danbury group serves people from Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven counties in Connecticut and from Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties in New York. For more information, contact Chris by phone at 203-917-1857 or by email at Christine.klauck@sbcglobal.net.

Note that the national DBSA organization has online support groups. Click here for more information or to sign up.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) of Westchester, New York is a peer-run group for people with bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders; partners and family members are also welcome.  All our meetings are free of charge and we always welcome new members.  Click here or on the Meetings menu at the top of the page for more information about our meetings.

DBSA Westchester NY is a local chapter of the national DBSA organization.
