We are pleased to announce that Ellen Casale, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Contemporary Care in Danbury, Connecticut, will be our guest speaker at the meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Ms. Casale will speak about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a form of therapy for those with depression or bipolar disorder that combines aspects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy with mindfulness training.
The first part of the meeting, from 7:00 pm to about 7:45 pm, will be a normal meeting for group discussion, after which Ms. Casale will give her presentation as if we were one of her DBT groups. She may lead us in a short meditation, provide handouts on DBT for us to follow as she describes the goals of DBT, and have people participate in a short workshop. Her presentation will end by 9:00 pm. If necessary, Ms. Casale is willing to stay after 9:00 pm for Q&A following the meeting.
We offer our sincere thanks to Ms. Casale for sharing her time and expertise with the group. The information below about Ms. Casale was excerpted from the Contemporary Care website.
